Etter høybudsjetts-kalkunene The Last Airbender og After Earth leger M. Night Shyamalan sårene med indiefilm-prosjektet Sundowning, som ifølge The Wrap har blitt spilt inn i smug.

Shyamalan & Co. holder kortene tett til brystet, men The Wrap kan røpe at filmen vil handle om «a single mother whose two young children visit their grandparents… and things go very wrong».

Sundowning is a psychological phenomenon associated with increased confusion and restlessness in patients with some form of dementia. Most commonly associated with Alzheimer’s disease, but also found in those with mixed dementia, the term «sundowning» was coined due to the timing of the patient’s confusion. For patients with sundowning syndrome, a multitude of behavioral problems begin to occur in the evening or while the sun is setting.

Skuespillere tilknyttet prosjektet er ifølge IMDB Kathryn Hahn, Ed Oxenbould, Deanna Dunagan og Brian Gildea. Shyamalan produserer filmen i samarbeid med Marc Bienstock og Ashwin Rajan.
