Kevin Spacey vil spille Winston Churchill i biopic-en Captain of the Gate

Kevin Spacey [1] har fått en slags renessanse med rollen som Francis Underwood i den populære og kritikerroste Netflix-serien House of Cards [2]. Nå er han, ifølge The Hollywood Reporter [3] (via The Guardian [4]), klar for å gestalte selveste Winston Churchill [5] i biopic-en Captain of the Gate.
Captain of the Gate vil fokusere på den britiske politikeren, forfatteren og offiserens periode som statsminister i Storbritannia under andre verdenskrig. Manuset vil utarbeides av nokså ukjente Ben Kaplan, som tidligere har beskjeftiget seg med krigshistorie på skjermen, deriblant dokumentarfilmer om Vietnamkrigen og andre verdenskrig, samt en History Channel-film om den amerikanske presidenten Ronald Reagan.
Ifølge The Guardian [4] vil Captain of the Gate sannsynligvis bli produsert av selskapet Sierra Affinity, med støtte fra franske StudioCanal. Så langt står prosjektet uten regissør.
